Adjoa Gyakoa Appiah Kubi crowned 2023 Child Sanitation Diplomat
A form two Junior High School (JHS) student of the Efutu M/A Basic School in the Central Regional ca[ital. Cape Coast, Ms. Adjoa Gyakoa Appiah-Kubi, has been adjudged the overall best of the fourth edition of the School Sanitation Solutions (Triple S) challenge which comes with a tagline ‘Child Sanitation Diplomat’.
Ms. Appiah-Kubi, scored 33.5 points to emerge the winner of the 2023 Child Sanitation Diplomat which was held at the National Theatre in Accra.
She beat three other strong contestants; Ms. Hannah Forkuo, of the Biadan Methodist JHS in Berekum in the Bono Region, Ms. Venessa Lamisi Asiedu, of the St Bernadette Soubirous School at Dansoman in the Greater Accra Region, and Ms. Venessa Adune Wenaba, of the Great Victory Academy in Bolgatanga in the Upper East Region, to emerged the overall winner.
The first runner-up position went to Ms. Venessa Lamisi Asiedu, who had 27 points. The second runner-up went to Ms. Hannah Forkuo, who scored 25.5 points, while the third runner-up position was taken by Ms. Venessa Adune Wenaba, who scored 23.6 points.
For emerging the overall best, Ms. Appiah-Kubi took home a laptop with a modem, a cash prize, an industrial printer for her school, a plaque, a certificate, and other souvenirs.
She will also be supported to implement a one-year project on environmental sanitation as well as offered the opportunity to travel outside the country.
The other contestants also received plaques, cash prizes, tablets, certificates, and other souvenirs.
The Children’s Sanitation Fair and the Triple S Challenge which comes with a tag line ‘Child Sanitation Diplomat’ is an initiative of World Vision Ghana supported by Kings Hall Media, Ministry of Sanitation and Water Resources, GAMA Sanitation and Water Project, Ghana Education Service and Zoomlion Foundation.
