Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III joins her ancestors @ age 98

The Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III, on Thursday, August 7, 2025, joined her ancestors at the age of 98.
The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, formally announced the passing of Nana Konadu Yiadom III at the Manhyia Palace.
The announcement was made during a mandatory Asanteman Council meeting, attended by all paramountcies and clans. The one-week observance for the late Queen Mother will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2025.
The late Nana Konadu Yiadom III was officially outdoored as Asantehemaa in 2017, following the death of her predecessor, Nana Afia Kobi Serwaa Ampem II, in 2016.
Her public unveiling took place during the 67th birthday celebration of her brother, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, at the Manhyia Palace.
Nana Konadu Yiadom III was widely revered for her influential role in the Asante Kingdom and her steadfast commitment to preserving its rich cultural heritage.
Throughout her reign, she served as a pillar of support to the Asantehene and the broader traditional authority.
That event also marked the commissioning of a renovated ceremonial park named in honour of the late Nana Afia Kobi Serwaa Ampem II.
Located opposite the Manhyia Museum, the park features a well-maintained artificial turf and has since hosted numerous royal and traditional ceremonies.
