Talented Ghanaian musician, Ahmmed Kanneh Larweh, fondly called Sparqlyn has finally disclosed that he decided to leave the once-vibrant music group, Dunsin and go solo because he was not able to give the group the needed attention it deserve.
“The only reason that necessitated my departure from Dunsin was my inability to give the group the needed dedication.” He stated emphatically.
Speaking in an interview on an Accra-based FM station, Sparqlyn used the opportunity to correct any form of perception that suggested there was some sort of bad blood between himself and the other members of the group which is why he walked away.
The musician cum business explained that after the group took a little break from active music back in 2018, he decided to concentrate fully on his private real estate and construction business.
He noted that fortunately for him, his real estate and construction business was doing well and working to perfection coupled with family matters, he felt there was the need to give his all to the business as it was his major source of catering for the needs of his family.
“Due to the success of the business, when the other members of the group decided to bounce back fully to music once more, he was unable to concentrate and participate fully and at a meeting between Ernest Obeng (Omega), Ernest Wiafe Koranteng (Swiitlyps), and myself who made up of the group Dunsin, it was decided that we parted ways amicably.” He said.
The music group was formed in 2003, however, they started recording professionally in 2005 and eventually got their first smash hit ‘Oyeadieyie’ and album in 2008 under the management of smart multimedia records.
Their first album had hit songs like ‘Sipuupu, Kaaklo, Ghana Nmaa’ and a few others.
Following their decision to go their separate ways, Sparqlyn who was formerly called Kele is currently working as a solo artist while his former group members have also rebranded to become the music group, Evergriin.
Sparqlyn has a smash hit single titled ‘Your Body’ on all streaming platforms already and the song is doing pretty well.
