Jerome Annor Manso wins Adentan NDC chairmanship race

A former Nmai Djor Ward Coordinator, Mr. Jerome Annor Manso, has been elected as the new Adentan Constituency Chairman for the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Mr. Annor Manso beat four other contenders, including the incumbent chairman Eric Nii Lomoh and the incumbent vice chairman Moses Kwadwo Dortso, to grab the top position
The closely watched contest concluded over the weekend as part of the ruling party’s nationwide constituency executives’ elections.
The highly competitive constituency chairmanship elections saw thousands of branch executives gather at the Victory Presbyterian Church’s park to elect constituency leaders tasked with steering the party’s grassroots mobilization strategy ahead of the 2028 general elections.
After a robust campaign centered on job creation, branch development, equal opportunity for all, proper accountability and unity, Mr. Annor Manso won with 760 votes, beating his closest contender, Mr. Francis Andoh-Quainoo, a former constituency treasurer who secured 685 votes from delegates.
Mr. Bright Ayaworpen, a former New Legon Ward coordinator, pulled 660 votes to place third, while the incumbent vice chairman, Moses Kwadwo Dortso, secured only 261 votes to become fourth, leaving the incumbent chairman Eric Nii Lomoh at the bottom, with a horrible 249 votes.
Supporters of Mr. Annor Manso gathered at the voting venue erupted in celebration as Electoral Commission officials officially declared him the winner of the constituency’s top post.
In his victory speech, Mr. Annor Manso expressed profound gratitude to the delegates and party elders for their trust.
He pledged an open-door policy, vowing to unite all factions within the Adentan constituency to build an unbeatable political machinery.
“This victory belongs to the grassroots of Adentan,” Mr. Annor Manso told ecstatic supporters. “Our primary goal now is to bridge any gaps left by the contest and work collectively to expand our margins and reinforce the NDC’s stronghold in Greater Accra.”
Party stalwarts have praised the generally peaceful and democratic conduct of the polls in Adentan, describing it as a testament to the party’s readiness for upcoming national campaigns.
Mr. Annor Manso will lead the newly elected constituency executive body alongside other elected officials across various portfolios.
