RWDPGH honours Theodora Adomako-Adjei for excellence and dedicated service at the 2025 GHWD

Management of Rural Water and Development Programme Ghana (RWDPGH), has honoured the Former Director, Extension and Essential Services – Community Water and Sanitation Agency (CWSA), Mrs. Theodora Adomako-Adjei, at the commemoration of the 2025 edition of the Global Handwashing Day (GHWD) held in Ashaiman Municipality in the Greater Accra Region.

The theme for the 2025 edition of GHWD was “Be a Handwashing Hero.”

Mrs. Theodora Adomako-Adjei was presented with a citation and parcel. The kind gesture, according to the management of RWDPGH, was to show their appreciation for the years of excellence and dedicated service to the WASH sector.

Mrs. Theodora Adomako-Adjei, who is currently on retirement, is a champion of Handwashing across the breadth and length of Ghana. A development and management expert with specialization in water and sanitation.

With over 20+years in the water and sanitation sector. Theo, as she is affectionately called, is a leading technical expert in Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) and well-informed on water and sanitation sector policy issues.

She has been involved in several initiatives relating to emerging concepts and models and contributed to the strategic discourse in the WASH sector. Development of various policies and strategies-change management, gender advocacy, behavior change, water safety planning, environmental and social safeguards, household water treatment and storage, WASH in emergencies, community management, communication, and customer relations. Coordinated several development and partnership projects and initiatives, and is acquainted with all 16 regions in Ghana
