We’re kept together as a country by the fruit of faithful believers’ consistent prayer, not political leadership – Prez. Mahama

Ghana’s President, Mr. John Dramani Mahama, has revealed that the country’s peaceful environment is due to consistent prayer and not political tolerance as many people had ascribed to.
“Ghana’s enduring peace is not merely due to political leadership or policy frameworks, but to the persistent prayers and spiritual intercession of the nation’s faith community,” he reiterated.
Speaking at the newly instituted National Day of Prayer commemoration in Accra on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, President Mahama insisted that the stability Ghana enjoys today is deeply rooted in the spiritual efforts of pastors, reverend ministers, and worshippers across the country.
“This peace we enjoy is not simply the product of sound policy or political will. It is the result of prayer, it is the fruit of faithful believers like you who have interceded persistently for the soul of our nation on every occasion,” he said.
President Mahama extended heartfelt gratitude to religious leaders and believers, both prominent and unsung, who have consistently lifted the nation in prayer.
“So on this occasion, on behalf of the people of our country, I want to thank all our pastors, Rev Ministers, men and women of God, shepherds of the flock, intercessors and worshippers both known and unknown who day after day bear up our nation before the throne of grace. Your labour has not been in vain,” he stated.
