July 2 is slated for the rollout of the government's 24-Hour Economy policy

The government is set to roll out its much-anticipated 24-hour economy policy on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, with Presidential Advisor Goosie Tanoh confirming final preparations are complete.

The initiative — a flagship campaign promise of the National Democratic Congress in the 2024 elections — aims to tackle unemployment and boost job creation by restructuring work cycles nationwide.
During the formal submission of the policy document to the Speaker of Parliament on June 26, Tanoh said the move marked an official notification to lawmakers ahead of the national launch.
He outlined the policy’s structure, which is anchored on three key pillars: production transformation, supply chain, and market efficiency, and human capital development. These are further supported by eight themed sub-programmes.
Tanoh emphasised the government’s commitment to integrating digital technology into technical and vocational training to prepare workers for emerging opportunities.
Another feature, ‘Show Ghana,’ is designed to promote the country’s cultural richness globally and boost tourism revenue.
Speaker Alban Bagbin commended the presentation but urged that a legislative framework be established to safeguard the policy’s continuity, especially beyond potential political transitions.
