Okaikwei Central MP appointed Ambassador for the 2025 edition of Christian Home Week celebrations

Member of Parliament (MP) for Okaikwei Central constituency in the Greater Accra region, Mr. Patrick Yaw Boamah, has been appointed Ambassador for the 2025 edition of the Christian Home Week (CHW) celebrations.
The Okaikwei Central lawmaker’s Ambassadorial role was unveiled at the launch of the 2025 edition of CHW at the head office of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana in Osu, Accra.
Speaking at the event, the Okaikwei Central legislator called for the intentional establishment of thriving homes while emphasizing the importance of strengthening families and marriages in Ghana.
He shared profound insights on parenting, citing Proverbs 22:6, to back his call. Saying the words in Proverbs 22:6 is a powerful reminder that parenting is not just a personal responsibility, but a spiritual investment in the future. When children are raised in homes where faith is lived out through the word and prayer, they grow up anchored in values that shape their character and guide their decisions.
The 2025 CHW Ambassador further affirms the significance of strong family foundations, saying, “Such homes become the training ground for future leaders, men and women who will carry these principles throughout their lifetime.”
The Okaikwei Central MP encouraged the audience at the launch to reflect on the true meaning of marriage. “As we celebrate marriages, let us remember that the meaningful way is about purpose, a love that lasts, a home that nurtures, and a legacy that inspires,” he said.
According to the Christian Council of Ghana (CCG), organisers this year’s Christian Home Week, their partnership with the Okaikwei Central lawmaker is aimed at strengthen family bonds, promoting a culture of love, understanding and respects, as his appointment highlights.
The group explained that Mr. Boamah’s dedication to promoting the welfare of humanity, families, and communities through his philanthropic initiatives makes him the perfect person for the Ambassadorial role.
The Chairperson for the occasion and Founder of Atta Mills Institution, Mr. Koku Anyidoho, in his speech referenced President Trump’s stance on gender, citing Genesis 1:26-27 to support the view that marriage should be between a man and a woman.
On her part Dr. Fatima Alabo, who was the Special Guest of Honour for the occasion, also emphasized the importance of marriage preparation, urging church leaders to educate everyone on the divine institution of marriage.
“Marriage is a divine institution that should be celebrated with Christ at the centre,” she said.
The event also featured Christian leaders, Representatives from Registrar Generals Department and Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs among others.
The theme for the 2025 edition of CHW celebrations is “Celebrating Marriage, the Right and Meaningful Way.” Is slated to take place on the 19th – 25th May, 2025, and it’s been organised by CCG in collaboration with the Registrar Generals Department.
Christian Home Week is an annual event, often celebrated in February, that focuses on strengthening marriages and families within Christian communities. It typically features special Sabbaths, like Christian Marriage Day and Christian Home Day, and provides resources to support family well-being.
The week emphasizes the importance of strong marriages and healthy family relationships, often highlighting the role of faith in these relationships.
