Hajj Abdul Samad Said Ibn Chambas installed as new Umoja Bwe

On Saturday, March 1st, 2025, the Chamba community in Accra gathered at the Palace of Chamba Chief Zorsimdi-Naa to witness the historic installation of Hajj Abdul Samad Said Ibn Chambas as the new Umoja Bwe (Youth Chief).

This milestone marks the beginning of a new era for the Chambas, who had been without a substantive Youth Chief for seven years.

The newly installed Youth Chief was sworn in under the esteemed leadership of Ouboya Zakaria Tahir Kuta III, Zorsimdi-Naa I, and endorsed by the respected Chamba Council of elders and Chief.

In his acceptance speech, Umoja Bwe Hajj Abdul Samad Said pledged to promote unity, prosperity, and progress for the Chamba community, emphasizing the importance of preserving cultural heritage while embracing innovation.

Chamba Paramount Chief Ouboyaa Zakaria Tahir Chambas III, Zorsimdi Naa I, advised the new chief to serve with humility, integrity, and compassion.

He also called on all Chiefs, Ulama, and community members to unite for the development and progress of the great Chamba and Ghana.

The installation ceremony was attended by prominent figures who congratulated the new Youth Chief and pledged their support.

The Chamba community is optimistic about the new Youth Chief’s leadership, expecting positive change and development.
