James Klutse Avedzi takes over SEC

Former Chairman of Parliament’s Public Accounts Committee (PAC), Mr. James Klutse Avedzi has been appointed to the position of Director-General of the Ghana Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), by President John Dramani Mahama.

Dr. Avedzi also a former Member of Parliament for Ketu North Constituency, appointment follows the termination of Rev. Daniel Ogbarmey Tetteh by the current president.

His appointment was communicated in an official letter from the Office of the President, signed by the Executive Secretary to the President, Dr. Callistus Mahama.

Rev. Ogbarmey Tetteh has been directed to hand over his responsibilities to Dr. Avedzi, who will oversee the Commission’s operations in the interim. The letter, however, did not disclose the reasons behind the termination.
