Parliament has unanimously approved Haruna Iddrisu, Kwame Agbodza, and Eric Opoku as Ministers
Ghana’s 9th Parliament under the Fourth Republic has unanimously approved President John Mahama’s nominees for ministers; of education (Mr. Haruna Iddrisu, Member of Parliament (MP) for Tamale South); Roads and Highways, (Mr. Kwame Governs Agbodza, MP for Adaklu); and Agriculture (Mr. Eric Opoku, MP for Asunafo South).
The three approved ministers were the second batch of ministers nominated by President Mahama, following their successful vetting by the Appointments Committee.
The Appointments Committee’s report presented to the House unanimously recommended the confirmation of the MP for Tamale South, MP for Adaklu; and MP for Asunafo South, for ministerial positions.
The Second Deputy Speaker, Mr. Andrew Asiamah Amoako, who presided over the session after the debate on the floor of Parliament on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, after the debate put the question “those in favour of the motion say YES and those against say ‘NO’ I believe the yes had it” he said
After extensive deliberations, both the Majority and Minority caucuses acknowledged the three nominees’ competence and proven track records, affirming their ability to lead their respective ministries effectively.
The Second Deputy Speaker subsequently confirmed the appointments.
