Senior Partner at KPMG appointed GRA Boss
His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, President of the Republic of Ghana has appointed Mr. Anthony Sarpong as the Acting Commissioner-General of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) pending approval.
A letter from the Office of the President read in parts “His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, President of the Republic of Ghana in accordance with 195 (1) of the Constitution and Section 13(1) of the Ghana Revenue Act, 2009 (Act 791) has appointed you as the Acting Commissioner-General of the Ghana Revenue Authority pending receipt of the Constitutionally required advice of the government Board, given in consultation with the Public Services Commission.”
Mr. Sarpong is a senior partner of the auditing firm KPMG. His appointment which takes immediate effect comes after Julie Essiam officially resigned from her position.
The appointee has 14 days to accept or decline the offer.
