Apostle Nyamekye to lead CoP for another five-year term... Receives massive endorsement during Thursday, May 4 elections

The Chairman of the Church of Pentecost (CoP), Apostle Eric Nyamekye on Thursday, May 4, 2023, received a massive endorsement to serve another five-year term as chairman of the church.

He polled 1,255 ‘Yes’ votes out of a total of 1,262 votes cast during elections conducted at the Church’s 46th General Council Meetings held at the Pentecost Convention Center in the Central Region.

Apostle Nyamekye received a whopping 99.45 percent ‘Yes’ votes to retain his position.

The retained Chairman of the CoP on Thursday, May 3, 2018, then Area Head of the Church of Pentecost in Koforidua, was elected to succeed Apostle Prof Opoku Onyinah with 994 ‘Yes’ votes out of a total of 1009 casted five years ago to become the 6th head of the Church.

Meanwhile, at the same Council Meetings, a 53-year-old Apostle Samuel Gyau Obuobi was also elected the General Secretary of the Church.

He replaces Apostle Kumi Larbi, who served for 10 years in the role.

Apostle Obuobi, polled 1,256 ‘Yes’ votes out of a total of 1,262, representing 99.6 percent.

He will serve for the next five years.
