James Agyenim-Boateng grabs top SIC job
President of Ghana, Mr. John Dramani Mahama has appointed Mr. James Agyenim-Boateng as the new Managing Director of the State Insurance Company (SIC), pending the necessary constitutional and administrative approvals.
.Mr. Agyenim-Boateng brings to his role a wealth of expertise that spans law, communications, media, and public service.
The announcement, made on Monday, January 27, 2025, follows the termination of Hollistar Duah-Yentumi’s tenure as Managing Director.
An accomplished lawyer, Mr. Agyenim-Boateng has earned recognition for his sharp legal acumen and deep understanding of communications strategy.
His unique blend of skills positions him to navigate the complexities of Ghana’s insurance sector, where legal frameworks and effective stakeholder engagement are pivotal.
From 2013 to 2017, Mr. Agyenim-Boateng served as a Presidential Staffer at the Office of the Vice President, where he was instrumental in shaping policy communication and providing strategic counsel.
In 2020, he was the spokesperson for former President John Dramani Mahama’s election campaign.
As the public face of the campaign, Mr. Agyenim-Boateng demonstrated his proficiency in managing media relations, shaping public discourse, and articulating the campaign’s vision to the electorate.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Agyenim-Boateng served as Deputy Information Minister, where he played a key role in the dissemination of government policies and initiatives.
As he takes on his new role at SIC Insurance Company, Mr. Agyenim-Boateng is expected to bring fresh perspectives and dynamic leadership to the organisation.
